Pedigree Information

Simply put, Donner Bube has one of the strongest pedigrees to ever come to Canada.
Although his lineage is laden with dressage bloodlines, it is far from devoid of jumping blood - his sire line is that of Paul Schockemohle's Olympic silver medalist and $1.5 million winning jumper, Deister. Donnerhall, now immortalized in bronze, has had a dominant influence in the dressage arena worldwide and Pik Bube I, who has 15 approved sons and nearly 200 Main Studbook mares, is a strong influence for dressage and jumping abilities. Grundstein I is likely best known in Canada as the sire of the CET dressage mount, Gilbona, but he also sired internationally ranked jumpers in the Oldenburg, Hanoverian and Westphalian registries and got 13 approved sons in only 7 years at stud in Germany. Donner Bube's third dam, Alinda is also the dam of Purioso, a stallion who has numerous KWPN offspring in the world rankings for dressage and jumping. In actual fact, horses of international caliber, in all three Olympic disciplines have been generated by the very bloodlines that Donner Bube exhibits. Not only do these names stand alone - they are consistently found combined in the ancestry of top competitors. One cannot find a gap in this pedigree.

Donnerhall – An internationally ranked dressage horse, three times World Champion and descending from top performance horses all the way to the Olympic level, Donnerhall is ranked 3rd by the WBFSH as a sire of dressage horses. On top of that, many of the top Donnerhall offspring are from mares descending from Pik Bube I and other lines found in Donner Bube’s pedigree.

Aldate – A states premium mare descending from states premium mares and leading stallions in the Oldenburg, Hanoverian and Westphalen registries. Both Pik Bube I and Grundstein I have international level descendants in dressage and showjumping. And if that is not enough, Alinda, Donner Bube’s third dam, is the dam of Purioso, an influential dressage and showjumping sire used by the KWPN.

Donner Bube’s powerhouse pedigree is the result of breeding the best to the best, generation after generation. Winner of his stallion test, Donner Bube has been shown in Europe and Canada as a jumper, and his current training in Dressage demonstrates that he has the talent to be competitive in the upper levels of that sport; just as his lineage indicates. He provides a unique opportunity for breeders no matter what type of sport horse they want to produce.

Donner Bube’s tractable disposition is definitely being inherited by his offspring – they are terrific to work with.  The oldest offspring were 3-year-olds in 2005 and they did well in the performance arena – the two mares that were presented for inspection both received Premium scores, one filly was the 2nd highest seller at the 1st Alberta Invitational Warmblood Sale, and his first 3-year-old to be presented at a CWHBA Performance Test achieved a Premium score! Donner Bube’s foals have also consistently placed "in the money" in CWHBA Foal Futurities

2004 Olympic Update: From Donner Bube’s sire side - Don Debussy (by Donnerhall) - top 15, making the final in dressage; and from his dam’s side - Weltall VA (team gold dressage), Wansuela Suerte (team gold dressage), Palladio (dressage) and Proton (dressage).
