Elite FEI Hanoverian Stallion

Licensed in 2000 in Germany, Don Hill completed his 30-Day Test at Vechta. In 2003, he qualified for the Bundeschampionate under Anje Rietbrock, who also developed the Hilltop stallion Royal Prince in his early years. Don Hill was then exported to England and shown very successfully through Prix St. Georges. In late 2010, Don Hill was imported into the U.S. He made his U.S. debut under Christopher Hickey earning scores in the high 60’s at Prix St. Georges on the competitive Florida circuit and is now showing with his owner. In 2011, Don Hill was the Champion Stallion of Dressage at Devon earning high scores and comments praising his correct conformation, powerful hind end, and stallion type.

Sire, Don Gregory, has had an impressive career combining breeding and sport duties. Under Martina Hannover, he was an FEI winner though Grand Prix. Don Gregory has sired 10 approved sons including Don Davidoff and Day Dream, States Premium and Brilliant Ring daughters, and many successful offspring that are winning in FEI dressage competitions around the globe, including Don Charly and Daylight. Don Hill’s dam, Hella, is by the important Thoroughbred sire Hill Hawk xx, who sired four approved sons including Hitchcok. His descendants have proven their worth as very successful dressage mounts. This combination of Don Gregory-Hella has resulted in three SPS mares in addition to Don Hill. Hella is also the dam of the approved stallion Demirel.

Don Hill’s first North American foals arrived in 2013. From the first North American foal crop, Don de Lion (ds. Hawthorne) earned an 8.5 on movement at his inspection. At the 2014 Dressage at Devon, Don Hill offspring Don de Lion, Donhaela (ds. Hailo), and Drake (ds. Royal Prince) all earned top ten finishes. Safe Haven (ds. Consul), who was imported from Germany, is competing as a Children’s Hunter.
